Canine lymphoma can be a serious disease for your dog. It is a systemic disease, spreading throughout the body. Any breed and any age of dog can be affected, although older dogs are more affected, as are Golden retrievers, Rottweilers and Scottish terriers. Canine lymphoma, like any disease, shows a compromised immune system. But, unlike the less serious diseases, it is badly compromised. You can improve this intangible, but essential part of your dog by addressing his health with a natural dogs health care system.

This disease is characterised by lymphoid cells becoming malignant and spreading anywhere and everywhere. The common areas your dog may show it are the lymph nodes, the liver, the stomach and the intestines. Other, less common areas are the spleen, the skin, the eyes, the bone marrow and the thymus. These tend to develop as the disease progresses.

When the lymph nodes are affected, they become swollen. This may or may not be seen or felt.

Common symptoms are similar to other health issues and include vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite (with the accompanying loss of weight and dehydration), difficultly breathing, lethargy, increased thirst (and so urination) and red, bumpy or flakey skin.

Veterinary diagnosis consists of a blood test, a urine test, a biopsy and a fine needle aspiration. Neither of the latter are without risks as they can allow the otherwise contained malignant cells out into the body, thereby accelerating the spread.

Veterinary treatment is with chemotherapy, Not only is this very expensive, it makes a bad situation worse. It is highly toxic, immune suppressive and does not deal with the cause of the problem. Not only that, but these aggressive drugs seriously impede the absorption of nutrients, making the recovery of your dog almost impossible.

The remission that your veterinarian assures you will follow is unlikely to occur.

A better, more effective and certainly easier way on both your dog and your wallet, is to adopt a system of natural dogs health care. The way this works is to improve your dog’s immune system to the point where he can heal himself. Of any illness, even the serious ones such as canine lymphoma. To some extent, this will depend on how advanced his illness is. However, if you don’t try, you will never know.

Natural dogs health care comes in two prongs. One is the diet. A quality, natural diet is so far removed from the typical unhealthy commercial dog food (regardless of the price tag or where you purchase it), it is difficult to compare them. Suffice it to say, it will provide your dog with all the essential nutrients, the lack of which is the likely cause of the problem in the first place.

The other is natural health care, in particular homeopathy. Homeopathy works by increasing the immune system. It supports everything your dog is trying to achieve, but can’t for various reasons.
