Diabetes in dogs is on the increase, just as it is in everyone. It’s curious that chronic diseases, including autoimmune diseases like diabetes, is on the increase when you consider the billions spend on research. But perhaps therein lies the reason. The research is not looking for the reason, the causes, but rather commercial ways to profit from such illnesses.

Then the continuing rise on these diseases makes perfect sense.

So let’s look at the way domestic dogs lives have changed, in line with the increase in any chronic disease, not just canine diabetes.

Maybe 50 or so years ago, certainly in living memory, domestic dogs were fed mostly table scraps. Those table scraps were a lot healthier than most are today. They would have consisted of a variety of vegetables, maybe some fruit, and meat. Certainly it wasn’t a perfect diet, but it was a lot more healthy than the diets most dogs eat today.

The commercial dog foods today start with very poor quality food, mostly unfit for human consumption. The manufacturers know the nutritional content is poor so they add a variety of vitamins and minerals. But not in a natural form. They are in a synthetic form. No body knows how to deal with synthetic chemicals. If you are lucky, it ends up in the stool.

If the dog is fed dry dog food or semi-moist dog food, they will contain preservatives. Not just any preservatives. Very strong preservatives that are not allowed in human food due to their toxicity.

The combination of poor nutrition and high toxicity will eventually have its toll on the dog. It usually takes time as the body will always try to make the best of what they have. And for a while, they may succeed. But gradually, the dog will deteriorate and chronic disease will take a hold.

The type of the disease will be connected to their genetic inheritance. So the genetics are responsible for the EXPRESSION of the disease. It is not the CAUSE of the disease. The cause is the poor nutrition, the high toxicity.

Diabetes in dogs can be overcome, can be fully healed, when you feed them a nutrient rich diet in keeping with their evolution, PLUS when you help unload them from their toxin burden.

The right diet will always help unload the toxins and that’s why it’s so common to see a de-tox period. This can be worrying until you appreciate what’s going on. Toxins need to come out of the body via a liquid, so there may be discharges, from any orifice. There may be vomiting or diarrhoea. The urine may be turbid and smell strong. There may be a skin eruption.

The de-tox period, as long as it is left undisturbed, without intervention, will last a short period. Then things will improve. The length of the period depends on the age of the dog and the toxic load they are carrying. It’s worth working with a knowledgeable practitioner while this occurs, as it can be worrying.

The heavy metals need extra help as they can’t be eliminated easily. That’s where good homeopathic treatment can help. Not only will it improve the vitality of your dog, the immune system will recover and become strong again, and the heavy metals can be expelled.

It’s a mindset change. Helping your diabetic dog starts with you opening up your mind to natural ways. Once you have done that, the rest follows more easily. So don’t despair. As the saying goes, “there are many roads that lead to Rome”. The most natural way is normally the easiest and the fastest way as well as the most long lasting or permanent way.

Diabetes in dogs is easy to reverse with the right diet and the right help.
